Emergency light testing is a legal requirement
Emergency Light testing is carried out to ensure the lights work correctly. They are important to health and safety and should illuminate exit routes. These routes are for people leaving the building in a emergency. A safe exit must always be illuminated. Emergency light testing is a legal requirement. The tests are UK law and should not be ignored , if you do not comply with the regulations you can be prosecuted. In severe circumstances you can end up in a criminal court. This is usually when there is injury or death as a failure to comply with the emergency lighting testing procedures.
THE DETAILS
LCC carries out annual 3 hour Emergency Lighting Testing. Our experienced technicians have completed NICEIC, ELECTRA, ECA accredited training and are able to advise regarding all necessary changes to emergency lighting and signage in order to comply with BS 5266 emergency lighting standards. Emergency Lighting Certificates are given upon completion of testing. Premises Emergency Lighting System Log Books will be maintained for your records. Our technicians can advise all responsible persons on how to carry out the monthly Emergency Lighting tests. Our technicians are equipped with the latest LUX meters to accurately assess required light levels for emergency lighting areas including exit routes, points of emphasis and areas of risk when photometric data sheets are not available. Technicians will inspect all Emergency Luminaires to advise where lamp and battery replacement is required.

- Lighting Level Assessment (when Photometric data is not available)
- Inspection of Emergency Lighting Luminaire lamps and batteries
- Cleaning of Emergency Lighting Luminaires
- Inspection of Emergency Signage
- Maintaining Emergency Lighting Log Book
- Emergency Lighting Test Certificate
PRICES
Emergency Lighting Testing starts from £95.00 +VAT. This is for up to 10 luminaires and includes the above.
Additional savings may apply when Emergency Lighting Testing is booked together with PAT Testing and/or EICR.
Note – Special rates apply for out of hours and weekend appointments.
